Author Julie Hahnke, who has written and published "Through the Eyes of a Raptor," a young readers' novel set in Scotland. Ms. Hahnke will be available to sign her book, and will be happy tell you about her next novel.

Falconry! Larry Keating and his young apprentice enthralled their audience with these magnificent birds of prey. Larry is always happy to answer all your questions throughout the day, plus he presents a more formal program, giving the history of falconry from medieval times. Larry is an educator, and has presented programs at Renaissance Faires and at Celtic festivals.
Larry has been working with birds of prey for over 20 years. He started off as a raptor bander at Braddock Bay in New York and then became a raptor educator teaching the public about the natural history of these incredible animals. Larry became a falconer over 12 years ago and is currently flying a redtail hawk and a kestrel. In addition to his falconry activities, Larry continues giving educational programs to the public using both his falconry birds as well as other non-releasable birds of prey. Larry also continues to band birds of prey and is also breeding several different species of raptors. In his spare time Larry teaches 7th grade science in Marlborough, MA.
Pam Engberg, of Firewatch Weavers, demonstrated how to weave tartan fabric at 2007's festival. Pam is away and cannot attend this year's event.
