We are thrilled to welcome back the Patron of the Western Mass. Highland Games, Chief Steven MacTavish of Dunardry and his lovely wife Leslie, to the 2008 Games.

We are delighted to announce that we have chosen Neil Anderson as Chieftain of the Games for 2008. He has long been a supporter of WMHG, first appearing with Clan na Gael (later, Seven Nations) in 1995.

We believe that by his passion for traditional bagpipe tunes, his deep appreciation of the history of the instrument, and his awesome talent in playing them, he has advanced the knowledge and enjoyment of bagpipe music, advancing the culture of the Celtic peoples to the next generation.

Neil will be performing with his band, Rathkeltair, this year, as well as presenting a "Bagpipes 101"  workshop.

C.L. "Ox" Gara and Jim Martin
